Most first-time clients have never watched a stonework or masonry project go in. Here's exactly what a project with Bear Valley looks like, from first call to final walkthrough.
Step 1. The estimate
You tell us about the space and what you have in mind. We walk the site, discuss layout, materials, and tie-ins, and send back a clear, all-in number.
Step 2. Layout and excavation
We mark the layout, call Dig Safe, and excavate to the correct depth for the wall or patio's use and your soil. Underestimating excavation depth is one of the most common ways masonry fails later.
Step 3. Base prep and compaction
Processed gravel base goes in lifts, compacted with a plate compactor. This is the foundation. Skip it and the wall or patio shifts within a year or two.
Step 4. Stonework, borders, and finish details
Stone is set in the chosen pattern with clean joint lines and borders or accent banding where it fits the design.
Step 5. Jointing and walkthrough
Joints are finished and locked in. We clean the site, review the project with you, and confirm you're happy before we leave.
